Smashin\u2019 Fashion\u2122\u00a0show challenges convention and presents fashion in a broader way. It’s a fashion show, re-imagined \u00a0using multi-media, social media, and updated\u00a0twists on the typical fashion show elements of runway, models, stylists, program, red carpet, and even the\u00a0audience. The show takes place on July 31st at The Art Institute of Houston.<\/p>\n

Models will be real-world-sized people trained to walk and pose like pros in my Runway For The Rest Of Us\u2122 <\/a>\u00a0model workshop. Styling will be done by\u00a0ten local fashion stylists, competing for $1000 in cash in Houston’s Best Stylist Competition\u2122<\/a>.\u00a0Audience members can co-create the show too by posting their street style and personal take on fashion trends to Instagram using the\u00a0#SmashinFashion<\/span><\/strong>\u2026their postings will become part of the runway experience.<\/p>\n

Partners<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Art Institute of Houston \u2013 North<\/a> is my partner in creating and producing the event. This project is part of The\u00a0Art Institute of Houston\u2019s collaboration with Houston businesses to provide students with invaluable real-world\u00a0project experience. The show will feature work by The Art Institute of Houston \u2013 North students in fashion, media\u00a0arts, design and culinary roles.<\/p>\n

Smashin’ Fashion will be produced by\u00a0Bambi Lynn<\/a>,<\/b>\u00a0Co-Creator\/Executive Producer of Fashion Houston 2010 and 2011. Lynn \u00a0produces\u00a0fashion shows with individual designers from New York, Los Angeles and Houston as well as non-profit\u00a0organizations. Lynn is also the Fashion Event Producer\/Corporate\u00a0Promotions Manager for Page Parks Corporation.<\/p>\n
