Smashin’ Fashion™ show challenges convention and presents fashion in a broader way. It’s a fashion show, re-imagined using multi-media, social media, and updated twists on the typical fashion show elements of runway, models, stylists, program, red carpet, and even the audience. The show takes place on July 31st at The Art Institute of Houston.
Models will be real-world-sized people trained to walk and pose like pros in my Runway For The Rest Of Us™ model workshop. Styling will be done by ten local fashion stylists, competing for $1000 in cash in Houston’s Best Stylist Competition™. Audience members can co-create the show too by posting their street style and personal take on fashion trends to Instagram using the #SmashinFashion…their postings will become part of the runway experience.

The Art Institute of Houston – North is my partner in creating and producing the event. This project is part of The Art Institute of Houston’s collaboration with Houston businesses to provide students with invaluable real-world project experience. The show will feature work by The Art Institute of Houston – North students in fashion, media arts, design and culinary roles.
Smashin’ Fashion will be produced by Bambi Lynn, Co-Creator/Executive Producer of Fashion Houston 2010 and 2011. Lynn produces fashion shows with individual designers from New York, Los Angeles and Houston as well as non-profit organizations. Lynn is also the Fashion Event Producer/Corporate Promotions Manager for Page Parks Corporation.
