The Spa at the Post Oak Hotel is a luxury experience from beginning to end. The gender-specific locker rooms, co-ed quiet room and treatment rooms are spotless and well-appointed with just about everything you need from an outlet for phone charging in every locker to personal hygiene and grooming products in the dressing area to elegant beverages upon arrival and throughout the spa spaces. The spa staff is almost TOO attentive…ready in the wings to answer any questions, escort you through the facilities, immediately whisk away used towels and glasses and restock supplies.
During my visit in January, I had the Eternal Radiance facial ($190 plus tax and tip). Annette, the aesthetician, was everything I could want – professional, knowledgeable, warm, kind, gentle, attentive and answered my bazillion questions. My focus was hydrating dry skin and reducing age spots. I was also curious about whether lymphatic massage would help with under-eye puffiness. She customized the facial with extra hydration and added additional lymphatic massage to open up my congested lymphatic system. After the treatments, my face was soft, smooth, glowing. AND visibly thinner.
I arrived 2 ½ hours before the treatment to enjoy all the spa facilities. I ordered lunch when I checked in at the spa, so the meal would be ready when I was ready. The California Roll ($17 plus tax and tip) was made with real crab…fresh, unctuous and yummy! After unwinding in the steam room, sauna, whirlpool, massage chairs and quiet room…I was fully relaxed by facial time.
I thoroughly enjoyed my spa day and agree, it was a 5-star experience. Here is a rundown of the facility…
Location: Fifth Floor, 1600 W Loop S, Houston, TX 77027
(take the direct elevator from the main hotel lobby. It’s a little hidden, so ask the greeters at the door to point the way)
Parking: Valet, $6 with spa validation. Self-parking is not available.
Tips: 20% tips are included in all bills for spa and meal service.
Phone: (346) 227-5142
Food and beverages: Complimentary infused waters, teas and elegant snacks are provided in the quiet room. Light meals and cocktails can also be ordered through the spa attendants. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available. If you’d like lunch or snacks from the menu, order at least 1 hour before you’d like to eat. In a hotel, the spa and food service departments are separate, so they need plenty of time to coordinate, prepare the meal and manage delivery.
Facilities: Lockers, private showers, private dressing area, sauna, steam room, whirlpool, ice chip station, quiet room, heated loungers in the whirlpool area, massage chairs in the quiet room
Amenities: Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, deodorant, toothpaste, razors, hair dryers, robes, slippers, towels, heated neck pillows…and probably more!
Treatments: The spa offers a full menu of massage, body scrubs/wraps/treatments, facials, and waxing. Hair, nails and makeup services are available in the salon.
