TV Lesson: How Guests Should Behave On TV

This is a great example of how to behave on TV. These guests are likeable, provided useful info to the viewers and demonstrate they are the experts they claim to be. Chances are, they’ll get business and invitations to appear on tv as a result of this appearance.

How did they do that?

  • They stayed engaged with the host and each other through out the conversation. (Bad guests check out while others talk.)
  • They supported each other with positive exclamations, reactions and facial expressions. Even though they disagreed on several points, they expressed their differences respectfully.
  • They share time – alternating speaking, allowing the other to finish a thought or sentence before talking, and build on what the other says. (Bad guests dominate the conversation and cut others off.)
  • They coordinated their materials before the show.
