Closet Makeover: Concealed to Convenient (Part 3)

This is Part 3 of the Closet Makeover. The makeover is divided into five posts – Part 1 – Before PicsPart 2 – Frantic to Functional,Part 3 – Concealed to ConvenientPart 4 – Unsightly to UnbelievablePart 5 – The Big Reveal & After Pics.

You wear what you see, so make EVERYTHING visible. You won’t remember to wear it, if you can’t see it. When you makeover your dressing area, make all your wardrobe items visible.

Place all your clothes on hangers, if possible. Hanging clothes are easier to see than clothes concealed in drawers. If you store clothes in garment bags, use clear ones so you can still see the clothes.

If you don’t have space to hang everything, place folded/rolled clothes on shelves or in containers so they are easy to see and reach.

For items stored in drawers, arrange the clothes so you can see each piece in the drawer. Roll or fold clothes and nestle them next to each other instead of on top of each other. Even underwear and pajamas can be stored so each piece is visible when the drawer is opened.

Take all jewelry out of boxes and bags. Lay the pieces in drawers or hang them from hooks or displays.

Place shoes on shelves. If you keep them in boxes, secure a photo of the shoe on the outside of the box.

Hang or roll scarves and belts. If you use hangers or hooks, place them so all scarves/belts are visible.

Place handbags on shelves, hang them from hooks, or place them in open/clear containers.
